Do I need an appointment to talk to a prosecutor?
ANSWER: Yes, please call (330) 848-6728 to setup an appointment with the prosecutor.
Q. Can the prosecutor and/or law director give me legal advise?
ANSWER:
Only on criminal matters if you are the victim of the crime. We are prohibited from giving legal advice on civil matters (i.e. divorce, custody of children, visitation, breach of contracts, small claim matters.)
Q. Does your office issue restraining orders?
ANSWER:
There are two (2) types of restraining orders: (a) criminal restraining order-which is only issued in conjunction with a "domestic violence" charge and (b) a civil protection order (CPO)-which is filed at the Summit County Courthouse (209 S High St-Akron) or contact the Victim's Assistance Advocate at (330) 861-7260 for more information.
