Mayor's Office

Mission Statement: The Mayor is an elected position serving a four year term. According to City charter, the Mayor is recognized as the Chief Executive Officer of the City. His duties and powers include the following: to supervise the administration of the City's affairs; to exercise control over all departments and divisions; to enforce all laws and ordinances; to prepare and submit the annual budget; to keep Council advised as to the financial condition and needs of the City; to appoint promote, transfer, reduce, or remove any officer or employee of the City (except elected officials); and to cause all terms and conditions imposed in favor of the City or its inhabitants in any franchise or contract to which the City is a party to be faithfully kept and performed.
