Rules and Regulations for Unlimited Curbside Pickup
1. All refuse and recycle material must be placed at curbside for Monday pickup no later than
7:00 a.m. on the day of pickup or no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the Sunday
before.
2. Refuse must be drained of all water and other fluids prior to being placed at curb for Monday
pickup in either 20-gallon or 30-gallon garbage cans with handles, plastic bags, bags or cardboard
boxes.
3. All large items must be placed at curbside for Monday pickup.
4. Grass clippings, twigs and sticks, will be picked up when placed in bags or containers. Weight limit
not to exceed 50 pounds.
5. Hedge and tree trimmings are to be securely tied in bundles not to exceed 2 feet in diameter and
4 feet in length and placed at curbside.
6. All recyclable items must be put in the proper recycle container and placed at curbside along with
your regular refuse for Monday pickup. Limit one (1) container per household.
7. Residents of the City of Barberton shall be charged $15.50 per household for curbside trash &
recycling.
8. Those who qualify for the Homestead Exemption shall be charged $12.40, for curbside trash &
recycling.
9. “Residential unit” means the grouping together under a common roof of one to four residential
units.
10. No residential unit may hire a private hauler.
11. Medical pickups are available for the physically disabled.
12. No construction material, no evictions or whole house clean-outs and no dirt, soil or feces. No tires
and no explosives.
13. Board of Sanitary Collection Appeals will handle hardship cases.
14. Cancellation of this program requires a thirty (30) day written notice, may be only in increments
of thirty (30) days, water must be turned off and not more than twice a year.

Carpeting (4 ft long rolls or less and securely tied)
Car Seats
Dog House (dismantled / no pieces larger than 4 ft x 4 ft x
4 in)
Fencing (rolled and tied not over 4 ft in length)
Firewood Storage Boxes (not over 4 ft in length, dismantled)
Furnaces (not complete furnace / no more than 60 lbs)
Furniture
Grass (if bagged)
House Doors
Household Appliances: Washers, Dryers, Stoves, etc.
(NO items with freon and/or
refrigeration compressors such as refrigerators, freezers,
dehumidifiers or air conditioners)
Mufflers
Pallets (4 foot in length, dismantled and securely tied in bundles)
Picnic Tables (dismantled / no pieces larger than 4 ft x 4 ft
x 4 in)
Spouting
Storm Doors
Storm Windows
Swing Sets (dismantled)
Tail Pipes
Tree Trimmings, Brush or Hedge Trimmings - if tied in bundles 4 ft long or less (maximum
number of bundled branches will be 4-5 at a time)
TV Antenna (dismantled)
Water Heaters
Window Boxes Or Planters (not over 4 ft in length)
Wood (in lengths 4 ft x 4 ft x 4 in with no exposed nails,
securely tied in bundles)
