Overview

The City establishes a seven‑member Board of Health composed of five citizen members, the Mayor, and one member of Council selected annually from the committee responsible for health matters. The five citizen members must be City electors who hold no other public office or appointment, and they are appointed by the Mayor with confirmation by a majority of City Council.

Responsibilities

The Board shall have the ability to make recommendations on public health matters to the Summit County Health District and to the City.
