Assistant Director of Public Service
The City of Barberton is accepting resumes for Assistant Director of Public Service. This position supports the construction, maintenance, and improvement of all public works within the City. The Assistant Service Director assists with the administration and coordination of the building, engineering, streets, utilities, and beautification functions, and helps ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operations across all public works divisions. Salary range: $69,532.81 – $99,981.28
Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in management, public administration, or a related field required; a minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal public works, construction management, utilities, or related operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Engineer
The City of Barberton is now accepting resumes for the position of Engineer. This classified position reports directly to the Director of Public Service. This is a responsible technical and administrative position consisting of directing the activities of the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Service, the development and supervision of public works projects and supervision of all operations and activities of the City Engineer’s office.
The ideal candidate shall have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus considerable experience in the practice of civil engineering, including experience in municipal engineering. Knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering and surveying as applied to the development, construction and maintenance of Engineering projects; the public work interrelationships of subdivisions, utilities and street systems, storm water; the principles and practices of public works administration.
2026 Pay Range: $74,886.94 – $114,395.57
